Handcrafted Wooden Colon Statue -“Colon” figurines and statues refer to the Colonial era in West Africa. They are playful and bright wooden sculptures that are also striking and original. The figures vary in height, and come in various different forms. But they are almost uniformly lanky and lean, providing a dramatic and modern silhouette. Most of the statues were made by the Baule tribe of Ivory Coast, a former French colony and are an enduring reflection of the complex relationships between the colonised and the colonisers.
