Adire Cloth – Made by the Yoruba people of Nigeria. The word Adire directly translates to “tie & dye”. This particular fabric is made by the women of the tribe using a variety of different resist dye techniques. This particular cloth was made using the “Oniko” dying technique by tying raffia around individual corn kernels or pebbles to produce white circles on a blue background.
